Frequently Asked Questions

Are LDMA campgrounds private?

Yes, LDMA campgrounds are reserved for Member's use only, outside of a few "open house" style mining events throughout the year. Members can stay at each property for up to six months at a time during the campgrounds open season.

As a member, can I bring friends and family with me?

Absolutely! Your friends and family are more than welcome to accompany you to camp, as long as they're staying with you in your rig. Mining on LDMA claims is exclusive to LDMA members only, but your friends and family are more than welcome to help you work through your concentrates back at your campsite.

What are my options for becoming a member?

We currently have Lifetime, Annual, and Monthly membership options. Click here for details.

Where can I dig and find gold?

All LDMA campgrounds are unique. Some offer mining access within walking distance to your campsite, while others offer private mining claim access within a short drive from your campsite. Checkout our campground pages for more details.

Do you offer other activities besides gold mining?

We sure do! Whether you're in to fishing, hiking, ATV & off roading, treasure hunting, rock & gem collecting, gold mining, or all of the above, LDMA membership is for you.

Are all LDMA campgrounds developed?

Nine of the 12 LDMA campgrounds are developed and have caretakers on site ready to greet you upon arrival. Five of those nine campgrounds have RV hookups (some full, some partial). There are three primitive campgrounds -- one in Northern California, one in Nevada, and one in Colorado.
