Experience the first LMDA Camp, Italian Bar. Built from the ground up in the 1970’s on the 1850’s gold rush site of the South Fork of the Stanislaus River and Nervie’s Store.
Italian Bar has long been a LDMA Members destination for gold prospecting, camaraderie or just relaxing listening to the river as it runs through the camp.
For the more adventurous the camp has 160 acres to explore and find remnants of the gold rush along with gold, Italian Bar camp for many of our LDMA Members is where they found their first gold.
Gold Panning and Sluicing is how a majority of our members find gold in the Stanislaus River. If you have a self-contained recirculating unit, we have an area designated for these units and if you are a Drywasher, we have that covered as well in an area in camp that is open for seasonal use.
Nestled six miles north of the restored 1851 gold rush town of Columbia on the South Fork of the Stanislaus River, Italian Bar camp is a historic gold rush mining area that holds truths and tales of the gold rush. Come to I-Bar and take a journey through time while immersing yourself in the rich heritage of the first LDMA Camp.
